The Mansbridge estate in Southampton has a long-standing historical connection to the Swaythling Housing Association which was founded in 1925 by architect Herbert Collins and local civic leaders to provide affordable high-quality housing.

Today, the legacy of that society is managed by Abri, a large housing association that evolved through various partnerships and now oversees much of the original stock and subsequent developments in the area.

Many of the original homes were designed by by Herbert Collins and are recognised for their distinctive style and integration with green spaces. 2025 marked the centenary of these early developments.
